The Two Biggest Reasons Why Most People Will Never Make a Full-Time Income Online…

It all starts when some well-meaning (yet misdirected) person encourages a budding internet entrepreneur to “start in a niche they know alot about”, or base their business around “something they’re passionate about”…

As horrible as it may sound – they’ve unknowingly sent the hopeful entrepreneur down a path of false expectations, poor results and eventually – failure. In fact, the myth of “do what you love and the money will follow” has been responsible for more failure than likely any other influence – perhaps even more so than laziness or a lack of perseverance.

Because the simple truth of the matter is that the only way you’re going to make real money on the net is if your business is based around two crucial things:

1) Large Demand

2) Buyers

In other words – you aren’t going to get rich selling a $15 ebook about growing square watermelons – even though that might be a great passion of yours.

The demand just isn’t there. Maybe there’s a few searches a day on Google for the topic, and perhaps there’s some interest in the online “gardening enthusiast” communities – but you’d be hard-pressed to make even a few hundred dollars a month from ebook sales.

Similarly, you also aren’t going to have a particularly easy time getting rich by building websites about some seemingly “popular” topics like humor, jokes, funny pictures and so on. And while there are a few ways to “monetize” your site (with AdSense, CPA Offers, CPM Banners, etc.), it takes literally millions of website visitors to make even just a few thousand dollars in markets like that.

The demand is huge – but the visitor value is extremely low…

Instead, if you want to make it big online – pulling down an impressive six-figure income – you need to tap into markets with tons of demand, where the majority of the visitors are valuable.

You need to capture tons of traffic that wants to buy something. If you take this approach, you’d practically have to hijack your own order links (or affiliate links) not to make a sizeable income.

In fact – did you know that some affiliates make several thousand dollars daily just by promoting a single product in hot markets? (Just imagine what the merchant is making…)

In some markets there’s actually so much demand that the vendors are quite literally selling over a thousand units – or more – per day. Digital products, with practically zero overhead/delivery cost.

But it all comes back to tapping into valuable demand. In most cases, it takes no extra effort or “skill” to market to a valuable market than it does to struggle along with something you’re passionate about.

These two factors – demand and buying traffic – are what seperate the “wannabe” marketers from the millionaires. Because there’s no real secret – you just need to sell what thousands of people are already buying.

The ball is now officially in your court. Are you tapping into markets with massive, valuable demand?

Or are you struggling to simply make a few dollars occasionally with a business that’s based on your own passionate interests?

Three Tips to Help Build Your Mailing List

If you’ve been around the internet marketing world for any amount of time chances are you’ve heard those questions on more than once occasion. So many people focus on getting to the top of search engines when they could be spending that time working on building their list which is actually more beneficial than being at the top of the search engines! Google can drop you faster than a blink of the eye but a list can “Google proof” your income.

Building a list can be challenging but with these three tips you will be on your way to building an incredible list.

1. Build a relationship first. Your main objective should not be money but building a relationship with your list. Don’t send email after email that just offers your product or service. Yes putting your product and services in front of your subscribers eyes is key to making money. However, they more than likely signed up for your list expecting to get something out of it not just sales pitch after sales pitch. And you will find if you do that you’ll have unsubscriber after unsubscriber. So focus on relationship building first and the monetary aspect later.

2. Be consistent. Consistency is key! Have you ever signed up for a list only to end up forgetting you even signed up for it because the emails were so far and few in between? Not only does it cause list subscribers to forget they signed up but it causes the potential for loss of income and then if you decide to start the list back up later it’s going to be tougher to get those subscribers to open those emails! So when you start that list make sure you are consistent!

3. Use a good autoresponder company. Each company will have different pros and cons you’ll need to evaluate and decide what will be the best for you and your needs. An autoresponder is where you’ll keep your emails, find your opt-in code, keep an eye on tracking – how many subscribers are actually opening your emails, etc. So it’s imperative that you have a reliable autoresponder company!

Those are just three tips of 101 that you will find in the 101 Smart and Easy Mailing List Strategies guide. If you want to start a mailing list or already have a mailing list pick up your copy of

The Top 3 Money-Making “To Do” Activities

By Jimmy D. Brown

http://www.HomepreneurHabits.com

I’ve always been impressed with those who can take overwhelming things and handle them with ease and poise. It never seemed to work that way for me, until I discovered the secret for tackling those daunting tasks.

The secret is simple: make things simple!

With just about every major undertaking, things can be simplified
into a handful of “core” components. That makes them manageable.
Manageable fosters productivity simply because I can work on
something that seems accomplishable. And when productivity goes
up, desired results come.

I received the following question from one of my clients…

“If you have to pick, what would you say are the top 2 or 3 things we should concentrate on? I’ve heard the domain/site(blog) are the most important, then others say writing info products, others say lists. For short term and
long term investment, what is the most important things to be working on?”

This client wants things simplified. And rightly so. He knows the secret to success is getting things down into manageable chunks.

So, what are these core practices for building an internet business? There are three things – and three things only – that you need to concentrate on with your business…

1. Offer Development.

You cannot make money online unless you have an OFFER. It’s that simple. Unless there is some way for income to be generated, you can’t get paid. End of discussion. Every business is founded upon a revenue-generating offer. Now, this can either be your own offer (small reports, ebooks, membership sites, coaching/consulting, advertising, etc.) or something you promote as an affiliate and earn revenue for referred sales.

2. List Marketing.

The fortune is in the list. You’ve heard it an untold number of times in the past, right? Building and profiting from opt-in lists should be a major priority on your schedule. You need to devote yourself to attracting new subscribers and then getting all of your subscribers to spend money with you … by purchasing your OFFERS (see #1 above).

3. Traffic.

The third and final thing you need to concentrate on is “traffic”. This includes both traffic GENERATION (getting visitors to a site) and traffic CONVERSION (getting that traffic to buy). This includes things like: starting an affiliate program, buying PPC ads, participating in joint ventures, utilizing viral marketing tools, raising your visitor value, tweaking your sales pages, etc.

With each of these categories, you have a variety of options to choose from in directing your attention. It would be foolish for me to say “grow your affiliate program” as your number # traffic activity since I don’t know if you even have your own product to sell. That’s why I don’t recommend specific activities, but rather three key categories of business-building.

With each of these categories, find 2-3 activities to work on each week and you should see results in a short amount of time.

I recommend you work on offer development every Monday, list marketing every Tuesday, and traffic generation every Wednesday. If you just spend a couple hours each of these days working on these core parts of your business, sales should come.

In a nutshell -

- Find an offer to promote.
- Setup a list to promote the offer.
- Drive traffic to the list opt-in page.

Keep it simple. Keep it successful.

“3 Fastest Ways To Get Traffic To Any Website or Blog” v2.0

- by Jim Edwards

© Jim Edwards – All Rights reserved
http://www.TheJimBoat.com

After all the debate over website design, shopping carts and credit card processors, every website owner eventually comes to the startling realization that they need one more thing to survive: website traffic!

But not just any traffic – they need *targeted* traffic.

In other words, they need people who are interested NOW in what they sell or offer and are actively looking for more information right now.

SIDE NOTE: Here are two key concepts to burn into your brain when it comes to traffic:

1. Immediacy – they want it now (not later).

2. Relevancy – what they see must be exactly what they are looking for, or they’ll keep looking.

Without targeted website traffic it’s the same as building an expensive billboard and, instead of placing it alongside a busy highway, hiding it in your *basement* where nobody can see it.

Upon realizing they need traffic, most website owners run out and start blowing chunks of money and time trying to get “hits,” but they fail to grasp that there are really only three (3) reliable ways to get traffic to any website.

Method #1: BUY Traffic

The fastest way to get traffic to any website is simply to BUY it!

The fastest way to buy it is to use the little classified ads on the right side of search giant Google’s results pages.

Called Google AdWords, the system allows any advertiser to open an account with a small activation fee and start seeing their ads appear on Google within about 15 minutes.

Advertisers only pay when visitors actually click through from their ad on Google to their website or affiliate link.

But here is where most people stop! Somehow Google got people to think the ONLY place you buy traffic is from Google (good for Google, bad for website owners).

In fact, you can BUY traffic from numerous different sources if you know where to look.

Let’s look at a just a few other places you can look to buy ads to drive traffic:

1. Yahoo! also sells traffic by the click. You can find out more here
http://sem.smallbusiness.yahoo.com/searchenginemarketing/

2. MSN also sells pay-per-click (ppc) traffic here: https://adcenter.microsoft.com/

3. Here’s one I bet you didn’t know about! *Amazon* even sells pay-per-click traffic through www.clickriver.com. These are very targeted ads that appear in front of serious buyers.

4. You can also buy advertising on dozens of other pay-per- click search engines. Log on to www.payperclicksearchengines.com for a list of hundreds ranked by market penetration.

All ppc engines follow the same basic model of only charging advertisers for targeted visitors who read an ad based on a keyword search and actually click through for more information.

A word to the wise on pay-per-click advertising: Watch your costs and track and measure everything.

Even though you can get traffic for as little as a penny, you should track your results by search engine and by individual keyword if you want maximum success.

Many a company has lost its entire advertising budget at a nickel or a dime per click by not watching their conversion rates and continuing to pour money into keywords that don’t convert… while neglecting the keywords that do bring sales (mainly because they don’t know which is which!).

However, don’t make the mistake of thinking your only paid traffic sources can come from pay-per-click search engines.

You can also buy ads on blogs and other targeted sites, either through ad networks or by negotiating directly with the sites.

http://www.blogads.com makes a great place to start your research for additional blog ad opportunities.

Method #2: BORROW Traffic

If you need traffic to a website, then borrow it from people who already have it… especially people with lists of loyal subscribers or traffic from search engines,
affiliates, or other steady sources.

“Endorsed Mailings” and “Reciprocal Linking” by other people represent the two fastest ways to borrow someone else’s traffic.

If they maintain a list of subscribers, convince them to send an email out to their people telling them why they should check out your site.

Also, negotiate a prominent link on their web pages to siphon off targeted visitors who find their website.

Often the best way to persuade someone to do this involves paying them a commission, agreeing to do a similar mailing to your own list, or providing a link to them on your site (or a combination of all three).

Imagine how much traffic you could get if someone with a list of 10,000 loyal subscribers told their people to go look at your website! It happens all the time… so why not make it happen for you!

Method #3: BUILD Traffic

If you don’t want to pay for traffic, and you don’t have any friends with lists, building traffic makes a great option. Building traffic means you use targeted content to create targeted traffic.

Let’s look at the 3 fastest ways to build traffic.

~ Article Marketing – Publish articles on specific topics of interest to your target market. Content drives the Internet (ever heard the term “Information Super-Highway”) and both consumers and publishers need a constant stream of
new content. Once you publish an article, you can include a link to your website or blog in the “resource” box to drive visitors to your site for more information.

This technique rates so effective that you can even use one of several services to announce your articles to thousands of website and blog publishers who *want* to publish topic- specific articles and will link back to you.

~ Blogs – Both search engines and Web surfers love blogs because they can get updated, relevant content quickly. Blogs also create a great potential source of revenue for you because you can run ads for your own products on your
own blog.

~ Social Media – Sites like Twitter and Facebook can drive large amounts of traffic if you take the time to build up a following and provide excellent, relevant content people in your target market value and want.

BONUS (Expert)
Method #4: “RECYCLE” Traffic

The most economical way to get traffic involves turning one-time visitors into regular, repeat visitors that you direct to multiple sites over time.

You do this by pulling website visitors into your sphere of influence by enticing them to sign up for your newsletter, autoresponder sequence, or “mini-course.”

Bottom line: instead of just getting one-time clicks, you get people to sign up to your email list!

Then you keep in contact with regular articles, special reports, and recommendations enticing them to visit your own and other people’s websites.

Ultimately, every website owner should orient all of their marketing efforts towards this end of developing a stream of recycled traffic, because it costs the least and creates the best return on time and money invested.

It doesn’t matter if you promote your own product, promote only as an affiliate, or some combination of the two… if you don’t recycle traffic and get more than one hit out of each visitor, you’re making one of the biggest mistakes anyone can make in online business.
